Kaspersky Lab CEO receives China’s highest honor for foreigners

Yevgeny Kaspersky, the CEO and co-founder of Kaspersky Lab, a Moscow-based, Russia, leading global developer of secure content management solutions, has been awarded the National Friendship Award of China.

The award, conferred by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, is the highest national honor granted to foreign experts, and is presentation is meant to express China’s gratitude and reward their dedication and outstanding achievements in China. The Chinese government invited Kaspersky, as one of the esteemed VIP guests, to the official ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of the country’s foundation.


According to the official citation, Kaspersky was granted the award for his outstanding contribution to the information security industry. Indeed, to say that Kaspersky deserved the award will be an understatement, as he has stamped his company’s signature mark on the Chinese information security since entry the country in 2003. For instance, the company is now the largest antivirus software products vender on the Chinese retail market in terms of activated licenses.
