Kremlin sacks governors over poor crisis management expertise

Four regional governors found themselves on the labor market after the Kremlin made true its promise to fight lack of talents and management expertise in the Gubernatorial Corpus. The first victims were Orlov, Pskov, Voronezh and Nenets District governors. Explaining his motive, President Medvedev noted that the increasing negative effects of the global crisis demand a new level of management from regional leaders. “These requirements are fundamental and apply to all, because now is not the time to relax.”
