Hotel network Amaks Hotels&Resorts has entered the international hotel services markets by acquiring the Bobruisk Hotel in the Belarus city of Bobruisk, the company’s first property outside Russia. It acquired the controlling stake of the hotel for 33mln rubles with an additional obligation to invest extra 60mln rubles in the property’s further development.
The new owner plans to subject the hotel to capital reconstruction, after which one of its corpuses will become a three-star, while the second corpus will be a four-star asset, the accommodation stock will increase to 190 rooms, while the renovated hotel itself will assume the Amaks Hotels&Resorts brand. Besides, the company plans to acquire new hotels in Belarus, specifically in the Gomel, Mogilyov, Grodno, Vitebsk and Minsk regions, where the corresponding agreements had been signed with the administrations of those regions on participation in the privatization of the objects.
