Alexander Khloponin, the representative of the Kremlin and White House in Russia’s restive North Caucasus region, has drawn Russian president’s attention to poor dissemination of classified information on external threats with regional leaders, especially those in the North Caucasus region. “A very important question on sharing information on external threats to Russia with governors has been raised. I must note that, unfortunately, information sharing has been very poor, making heads of regions feel sometimes as blind kittens on national security issues,” he added.
Khloponin further noted that the Russian North Caucasus regions are more frequently targeted by enemies of Russia in carrying out their threats against the country, its residents and national and geopolitical interests. “This is why it would be desirable for the regional leaders to receive such information on more regular basis.”
