CIS prime ministers look forward to celebrating the Commonwealth’s 20th anniversary

The heads of the CIS member-state governments at their traditional prime-ministerial summit last month discussed ways to further deepen integration processes in the Commonwealth. Specifically, the summiteers named boosting cooperation in economy, sciences and innovations their key priorities today, as all the CIS countries are currently solving similar problems of overcoming the negative consequences of the global crisis. 


They also discussed the plans for the celebration of the CIS 20th foundation anniversary in December 2011. Speaking in his capacity as the prime minister of the country currently holding CIS chairmanship, Prime Vladimir Putin called the CIS a unique system of interactions for the benefits of CIS citizens and companies. “Leaning on our accumulated experiences, we should be able to move forward and execute our plans formulated in the CIS Development Concept and the Strategy for Economic Corporation for the period up to 2020.”
