JSFC Sistema owner Vladimir Yevtushenkov has called on the government to equip all civilian vehicles in Russia with the GLONASS system navigators in order to considerably reduce the time that emergency forces (ambulances, police, rescue teams, etc.) arrive at road accident sites. “We believe that this system will help significantly lower death rates on our roads. The so-called Golden Hour rule says that 56% of accident victims usually die within the first hour after the accident in the absence qualified urgent medical aid.”
To successfully execute this project, Yevtushenkov calls on lawmakers to legislatively oblige all cars in Russia to be equipped with navigators. “It is generally believed that equipping vehicles with navigating devices drastically reduces death rate in road accidents as they boost the arrival time of emergency rescue and medical teams by 30%.”
