Russia and Vietnam again reaffirm adopted course on strategic bilateral partnership

In July, President Dmitry Medvedev hosted Communist Party Central Committee Secretary General Nong Duc Manh, who was in Moscow on an official visit on the invitation of the Russian head of state in the Kremlin. During the official talks, both leaders exchanged opinions on ways to further deepening the existing strategic partnership between Russia and Vietnam at the regional and international levels. They also paid a special attention to the ongoing interactions in the energy sector, notably, cooperation in geological exploration for and drilling of oil and gas. 


They also discussed the promotion of joint investment projects in mechanical engineering, telecommunication and mining industries, participation of Russian companies in construction of new and modernization of existing energy assets in Vietnam. Later, at an official ceremony in the Kremlin Grand Palace Medvedev awarded the Vietnamese leader a Pushkin's Medal for his huge contribution to promoting rapprochement and mutual enrichment of cultures, spreading, studying of Russian and preservation of cultural heritages between the two countries.
