NATO’s new concept will define Russia’s future relations with the alliance

Moscow’s future relations with NATO will depend on how the alliance’s new strategic concept corresponds, amongst others, to the norms of international law and UN’s Charter, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said. “For us, the key issue is how this concept defines NATO’s position with respect to international law and UN Charter, notably, the use of force in international politics.”

Lavrov also noted that the Russian initiative on pan-European security envisages direct participation of all Euro-Atlantic organizations, including NATO, in drafting a relevant agreement on this issue.
