Expert's Corner: Ararat Park Hyatt Moscow executive's opinion

Due to the crisis and the general tendency of cost-saving, our guests now pay more attention to price. However, the availability of a wide range and level of services has continued to play a very important role in the industry.
How would you assess your hotel’s position today, taking into consideration the scale of the global crisis?
Ararat Park Hyatt Moscow holds one of the leading positions on the Moscow market. Even during the difficult economic times we did our best to keep the level of additional services and amenities at the pre-crisis level. Our exclusive and high level of service as well as a great number of loyal customers have definitively helped our hotel to maintain its leading position on this market and recover quickly.
What would you call your hotel’s key competitive advantages on this market?
Not only the hotel management, but also its guests, always highlights the convenient location, close to the Red Square and main cultural sites, as one of the hotel’s key advantages. We’ve also launched several packages, which combine stay at hotel with, for example, shopping in the TsUM or tickets to main cultural events, such as the legendary Cirque du Soleil shows. Especially I would like to note our Winter Garden Suites, which are exceptionally popular with our guests, as they offer a beautiful panoramic view of the Red Square, and are equally ideal for VIP and romantic getaways.
What is your market performance prognosis for 2010 and near future?
We expect that the market situation will remain stable, thanks to new players entering the market, and the number of tourists visiting Moscow, which is also expected to increase due to recovery of the global economy and the simplification of Russian visa procedures for some countries.
