One of the main topics on the agenda of the Second Russian-Turkish Cooperation Council chaired in March by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Turkish Prime Minister Recep T. Erdogan was further development of bilateral trade and economic relations. Representing Moscow at the negotiations table, apart from the president, were Foreign Affairs Minister Sergei Lavrov, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin,  Presidential Aide Sergei Prikhodko, Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina, Industry and Trade Minister Viktor Khristenko, Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko and Russian Atomic Energy Corp. CEO Sergei Kiriyenko.

The results of the negotiations included signing the Russian-Turkish Public Forum Protocol, Cooperation Agreement between Russiya TV channel and Turkish radio and television broadcasting company and the exchange of official notifications of the fact that the Readmission of Citizens Agreement between countries has come into force.
