Russian-Mongolian negotiations end with penning of new strategic agreements

Russian and Mongolian Presidents Dmitry Medvedev Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj during their bilateral talks in the Kremlin discussed perspective areas for deepening existing cooperation in the economic sphere and exchanged views on key international issues. They later signed a joint statement and a number of other vital documents, among which were an Intergovernmental Agreement on Mutual Protection of Intellectual Properties and Memorandum on Scientific Cooperation between the Russian and Mongolian Academies of Medical Sciences, etc.

It needs to be noted that Mongolian president’s official visit took place at a time that is a landmark for Ulaanbaatar and the Mongolian-Russian bilateral cooperation as this year marks the centennial anniversary of the Mongolian independence and the 90th anniversary of its establishment of diplomatic relations with Moscow. Today, Russia and Mongolia are actively involved in the implementation of joint projects in the mining, transportation and infrastructure development industries.
