The sacking of ex-Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin is a serious setback for Russia, especially given the real threat of a possible second wave of crisis and the fact that professionals of such caliber are difficult to find today, Rusnano CEO Anatoly Chubais said.

Similarly, former Right Cause Leader multibillionaire Mikhail Prokhorov sees the resignation as the beginning of the ‘polarization’ of the elite that will be accompanied by emergence of new figures with development concepts. “This is why I think we are on the threshold of a probable tectonic shift in the Russian elite’s consciousness.”
