International politics experts have offered explanations for the high position of Vladimir Putin, ranked second after the U.S. president, in the Forbes rating of the world’s most influential people. Thus, explaining why Putin, and not China’s Hu Jintao (ranked 3rd), whose country has more weight in the world, is second, the experts noted that Putin is more influential in Russia than Hu in China. “Besides, Hu is an outgoing leader, while Putin is returning to power,” Mikhail Remizov, director of the Strategy 2020 Foundation, said. “In China, power sharing is collegial, while Putin is the sole leader in Russia.”
