The Customs Union (CU) formed by Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia is functioning fully, Russian Industry and Trade Minister Viktor Khristenko, who also oversees the CU agreements that came into force on July 1, 2010, noted. “It is important that today the CU is working at a full capacity. In fact, there are no longer any obstacles on movement of goods among the CU states,” the minister added. “This year, the CU members will confidently go beyond the $100bln turnover. This is a colossal figure in terms of the impending crisis,” he added. “A lot had been achieved, despite the internal and external obstacles. It is clear that lots of people do not like in-depth integration among former Soviet states, a reality that makes all the adopted policies more important.”
