In February, the new KIA FAVORIT MOTORS showroom on Leninsky Prospekt presented the new KIA Optima business-class sedan to the public, where the novelty glowed in its glory: a two-petrol-powered motor from the Theta II family, offering a choice of 2-liter (150hp) or 2.4-liter (180hp) engines. Besides, both come with a six-speed automatic transmission equipped with the new Active ECO system, which regulates the engine and transmission, and thus boosting fuel economy up to 9.1% in the 2-liter and 7.5% in the 2.4-liter engines.
It is, therefore, not surprising, the vehicle was ranked among the ‘top ten best selling cars’ by the U.S. magazine Auto A Fondo, while its design has received the most prestigious awards. What KIA chief designer Peter Schreyer has called ‘strong, athletic and sports palpable energy’ in the Optima brand, which has been well-received on all foreign car markets, will also similarly enchant Russian car lovers.
