General tour operators selected for Eurovision-2009 Songs Contest

Intourist and Akademservice have been chosen as the general tour operators for the Eurovision-2009 Songs Contest, which will take place at the Moscow Olympics Hall on May 1-16. According to the City Government, the companies’ responsibilities have been clearly demarcated, with Akademservice catering for the participants and press corps, while Intourist will take care of the guests and fans. Commenting on the decision, Intourist President Alexander Artyunov said conducting such large-scale events of international importance in Moscow boosts the city’s image as a tourist Mecca. “This is why the status of a Eurovision-2009 general tour operator is both an honor and a huge responsibility.”
