Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has been voted the most popular politician in Russia, beating not only his predecessor Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, but also a host of popular western politicians, including the new charismatic U.S. president, Barack Obama. 

For fairness sake, tt needs be noted, that the rating compiled by Medialogia was based only on Russian media’s data, which factored in the number of mentioning of politicians’ names, their direct speeches, the media’s influence other criteria. The study covered data offered by 3,500 of the most influential of all types of Russian media outlets in 2008.
