Colossal Traffic Damage

The Russian Traffic Control Directorate or GIBBD has computed the social and economic damage connected with the constant traffic jams in Moscow. The resultant sum is measured in 10-digits, and on extrapolation for the whole country, the damage is astronomical, the GIBBD said. 

“This year, we ordered MADI experts to study the damage from the constant traffic jams in Moscow,” GIBBD Chief Viktor Kiryanov said. “The study factored in such parameters as time lost in transits and the negative influence of auto transport on the environment. In all, the estimated damage was about R40bln per annum. And, this was only for Moscow.”
