Russian pop primadonna Pugacheva celebrates birthday anniversary with pomp

Russia, other CIS nations and the Russian-speaking Diasporas in other countries took part in ceremonies to commemorate and congratulate Russia’s pop primadonna Alla Pugachyova, who celebrated her 60th birthday anniversary in mid-April.

The prima received private and official congratulatory messages from fans, including from the Kremlin, the Russian White House and other countries, all highlighting her invaluable contributions to the Soviet, and later, Russian pop music culture.

For instance, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, apart from the traditional congratulatory words, also decorated the primadonna with one of Russia’s most esteemed state awards.
