Grand opening of modern business hotel Al Pash Grand Hotel

First in the city

The Al Pash Grand Hotel, the first modern, five-star business hotel, was opened in a grand ceremony in Astrakhan in May. Astrakhan Region Gov. Alexander Zhilkin, St. Petersburg Bank Board Chairman Alexander Savelyev, Astrakhan Mayor Sergei Bozhenov and Alikber Pashaev, the hotel owner, advisor to the Astrakhan governor and Honorary Citizen of the city of Astrakhan, took part in the traditional red-ribbon cutting ceremony.

The other VIP guests at the opening ceremony included the representatives of the Astrakhan regional and city administrations, CEOs and other top managers of Russian and foreign largest companies, representatives of federal and local mass media, restaurateurs and hoteliers, and representatives of such retail network companies as METRO, Picnic and Bacardi-Martini, amongst others.

Speaking at the ceremony, Gov. Zhilkin thanked the investors, who were able to build and deliver such a project within 11 months. “This hotel has become a visiting card for the city of Astrakhan, and will soon become a venue for serious summits at the level of the heads of the Caspian littoral states.”

The St. Petersburg Bank board chairman took the podium after the Astrakhan governor’s speech, noting in particular that the Astrakhan region and city are strategically attractive destinations not only for his bank, but also for other major investors. “The opening of a hotel of this level in Astrakhan is a very important event not only for the region, but also for the whole of Russia.”

In his speech, the Astrakhan mayor noted the job opportunities that come with this type of projects. “This particular hotel has opened up over 300 jobs in the city. Economic stability in Russia begins with the execution of such projects in the country,” he said. “The level of service in this hotel will be very high, and be comparable to those offered by similar five-star hotels in Moscow, New York, Washington, Berlin, etc.”

In concluding the official part, Pashaev thanked everyone, who had worked and contributed seriously to the successful execution of the project — builders, Start up team of managers led by Elena Shelting. However, the biggest thanks went to the St. Petersburg Bank for its huge role and financial support, “without which there would have been neither this project nor the ribbon-cutting opening ceremony.”
