Source: TRCW amd NAFI
MOSCOW, Russia – Almost 42% of Russian women said they had noted positive changes in the attitude towards female entrepreneurs in the country, according to the results of a national survey released ahead of the International Women’s Day, which is celebrated across the globe on March 8.

The Woman Business Index (WBI), an indicator tracking the active involvement of Russian women the country’s business sector, stood at 59pp in the 1H17, rising 2pp and 3pp over the corresponding data for 2016 and 2015, according to the poll.

The survey was carried out by the NAFI’s Analytical Center on the initiative of the Opora Rossii’s Committee for the Development of Women's Entrepreneurship with the support of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.

The WBI is an aggregated relative indicator that characterizes the business activity of women from three positions.

These include the culture of entrepreneurship (the attitude of society to women entrepreneurs); Entrepreneurial ecosystem (assessment of business conditions, availability of infrastructure, finance, business education, etc.), personal qualities of women (assessment of the quality of life of a woman and her professional skills).

A key role in the improvement was played by media reports, real examples of successful women in the business circles and the activities of specialized communities, according to the poll.
