Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Chairman Evgeny Primakov had said he would not run for a reelection at the March Congress, which will elect the organization’s new management.
By this decision, the 81-year old political heavyweight has finally ended his 10-year at helms of an organization, shouldered with the responsibility of promoting Russian businesses’ interests abroad. Primakov, for a greater part of his professional career, has served in very important official positions, as the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service ex-director, former foreign affairs minister and ex-Russian prime minister.
Wherever he worked, he left behind positive marks, which transformed the state agencies under his watch, including the RCCI, into more authoritative organizations at his departure. This is that rare case, where it is not the places that grace men, but men their places.
