Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his Armenian counterpart, Serzh Sargsyan, during their meeting last month in St. Petersburg discussed the ways of boosting the existing level of trade, economic and investment cooperation between their countries. The meeting took place within the frameworks of the ongoing Russian-Armenian political dialog.
According to Kremlin’s Press Service, the meeting’s agenda, specially structured to reflect Russia’s hegemonic position as Armenia’s largest foreign economic partner, included issues of deepening cooperation in the energy sector, including nuclear fuels, transportation and other spheres of the Armenian industries with a high level of Russia’s participation.
Currently, several top Russian corporations such as VTB, Gazprom, RusAl, Russian Railways Corp, VimpelCom, etc., are operating in Armenia.
