The stallion, nicknamed “the king” reigns supreme at the Russian President Horse Racing event

A stallion, nicknamed, "The King", representing Tajikistan, won the highly coveted Russian President Prize in a horse race held in late June on the Kazan racetracks. The Russian President Horse Racing competition is the most prestigious equestrian events in the country. Therefore, it was not surprising that the race were attended by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, head Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and about 6,000 spectators. 


Apart from Russian President Prize event, other equestrian competitions included the National Endowment and the Tatarstan President Prize horse races.  However, the day’s newsmaker was "The King" that finished the 2,400-meter racecourse in 2 min 34.94 sec., beating other 15 rivals from Russian regions and other CIS countries. Only thoroughbred breed stallions aged four and above are eligible for the competitions. In all, there were a total of nine races, with a gross prize pool of 28.5mln rubles, out of 10mln rubles were allotted to the President Race Prize.
