Marco Polo Presnja Hotel is the general partner of the XXIII Glinka International Vocal Competition
MOSCOW, Russia — Marco Polo Presnja Hotel, located in the most quiet and legendary part of old Moscow in the calmness of the Patriarch's Ponds and in close proximity to the Moscow State Conservatory, is the General Partner of the XXIII M. I. Glinka International Singing Competition, which is being held in Moscow from Dec. 3-14, 2009.
According to the organizers, the main objective of the competition, whose cultural significance has a global magnitude, is not only to discover young talents, but also to further popularize Russia’s vocal classical heritage. This objective is more vividly illustrated by the names of the competition previous winners that include such current world famous performers as Dmitry Hvorostovsky, Olga Borodina, Vladimir Chernov, Anna Netrebko, Ildar Abdrazakov, Sergei Murzaev, Olga Trifonova, Elena Manistina, Mikhail Kazakov, Albina Shagimuratova and serveral others.
Commenting on the issue, the Marco Polo Presnja management said the hotel will gladly open its doors to the competition’s jury members and participants as well as all the guests invited to the high-profile cultural event. Specifically, Boris Stasyuk, the General Manager of the hotel, personally wished all the competition participants good luck and expressed his sincere belief in the imminent emergence of new stars in the sky of the opera stage.
