The Kremlin is considering a plan to increase subsidies for flights to&fro the Far East

MOSCOW, Russia, 10/08/2016 - Today at the Russian President Vladimir Putin's meeting with the head of Ministry for Development of Russian Far East Alexander Galushka, Putin and Galushka discussed a plan to subsidize flights to&fro the Far East.
Particularly, Galushka asked the head of the country to support the increase in government funding of air travel in the eastern European part of the country.
The Minister spoke about the support program manages regional air traffic regional air traffic. Currently there is a flat rate of "Aeroflot" for the Far East: one-way ticket costs 12 thousand rubles, and back and forth - 20 thousand rubles.
According to the head ministry, in 2015 this rate benefited 1,4mln passengers, and this year is expected around 1,6mln people.
20 regional routes and flights of pensioners living in the Far East are subsidized by the federal budget – said Galushka.
Since the beginning of implementation of the regional air service program to support a list of routes has been extended more than doubled, from 24 to 52 - noted the head of Ministry for Development of Russian Far East.
