Kremlin’s export support boosts sales of Russian goods and services overseas
The sale of goods and services, produced by Russian companies and marketed under their corporate brand names, is growing rapidly on foreign markets, thanks to the government’s active exports support programs, as per the Russian Export Center (REC).
The REC is headed by CEO Veronika Nikishina, appointed to the office on October 10, 2020.
The use of government’s various export support programs, such as “My Export Digital Platform,” and securing the “Made in Russia Certificate,” are key tools helping Russian companies to actively expand the geography of supplies and sales of their goods and services on international markets, and also boost the trust of foreign consumers in Russian brands, the REC noted.
The list of regions and countries currently experiencing a boost in the number of debuts and/or growth of Russian brands include Europe, such as Turkey; the CIS, such as Georgia, and BRICS+ states. The others include various countries in Southeast Asia and Middle East, such as the UAE; and several African markets. Thanks to the government’s various exports support programs, leading Russian companies from various industries — from children's games to pet foods and beverages — are, as per REC, actively confirming their status as reliable partners through the REC’s voluntary quality standards certification procedures.
The “Made in Russia Certificate” is becoming not just an indicator of high quality, but also a powerful tool for promoting locally produced goods and services on the international markets. To obtain this free certificate, a company simply needs to submit an application on the REC’s website, along with the required documents that confirm the high standards and quality of its products, developed and manufactured in Russia, the REC said.
The REC, a subsidiary of VEB.RF, a state finance and infrastructure development holding, is a government institution tasked with the active promotion of exports of so-called processed goods and non-hydrocarbon fuel products to foreign markets. Specifically, the REC provides local companies from various industries with both financial and non-financial support at all the stages of Russian goods and services’ debuts on the international markets. The center implements all its export support strategies, including the “Made in Russia” program, in close collaboration with the other government agencies, such as the “International Cooperation and Export National Project” of the Trade and Industry Ministry, as per REC.
