Moscow Marriott Grand Hotel lands a new general manager

Return to Roots

Nicolas Kipper — who had previously worked as director of operations at Moscow’s Marriott Grand from February 2004 to 2007, when he went over to Marriott Tverskaya as general manager — returned to Marriott Grand in June in a new capacity as the hotel’s general manager. In his new position, he will report directly to Ken McLaren, executive vice president, Moscow branch of Interstate Hotels & Resorts.

Kipper has always displayed a high level of professionalism in his works in all capacities. For instance, during his tenure at Marriott Tverskaya, he oversaw the renovation of the hotel’s public areas and conference facilities, introducing a more modern refreshing style with a choice of colors that aptly reflects today’s ever changing tastes in the hospitality industry. Similarly, during his first stint at Marriott Grand, Kipper, tapping on his extensive experience of hotel operations, oversaw extensive room renovation and redesigning/renovation of the concierge lounge, which significantly boosted the hotel’s overall commercial performance and quality of services.

Kipper — a graduate of the University and Hotel School of Strasbourg with a Masters Degree and other relevant qualifications — has prior to his relocation to Moscow in 2004, spent 14 years working with Hyatt-branded hotels in several locations, including Morocco, Poland, Egypt, Turkey, Spain, Yugoslavia and Mexico. His favorite sports are water and snow skiing, tennis and swimming. Other hobbies include traveling, wines, cigars and cooking.
