Maiden summit transforms BRIC into a powerful alliance
The leaders of the BRIC quartet, the fitting acronym coined by Goldman Sachs for Brazil, Russia, India and China, forecast to become the largest global economic powers from the second half of this century, held their first official summit in Russia last month to map out strategies aimed at transforming the currently amorphous group into a more powerful intergovernmental alliance capable of influencing regional and global political and economic affairs.
