Marriott Courtyard Hotel hosts exhibition of modern paintings of Moscow

Fine Arts Connoisseurs

In July, apart from its traditional guests, the Courtyard by Marriott Moscow City Center Hotel also started playing hosts to connoisseurs of modern paintings, which are currently displayed on its lobby walls. The exposition, dedicated to both modern and old and forgotten, real and fantastic Moscow, is a collection of the works of Moscow painter Alexander Miloserdova, who has depicted the Russian capital in various ways as it is seen by different people. The art works reflect the painter’s subjective and original vision of the city and its bobbling life.

The greatest interest is incited by the Seasons of the Year series presented in four works, which show Moscow’s different ‘faces’ at different times of the year. The main and brightest feature of the series is the female image, the central figure in each art composition that most precisely expresses the city’s mood and basic traits in each of the four seasons of the year. These are expressed in paintings of different four women titled, “The Familiar, Lovely Face,”, “The Cheerful Ringing Garden,” “The Very Same Tsvetnoi Boulevard” and “The Multi-Colored Ice Blocks in Kolomna” that symbolize Moscow in spring, summer,  autumn and winter, respectively.
