English First has been appointed the official supplier of language training services to the Sochi-2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. EF has a proven track record in developing language programs for the Olympic Games, having served in similar capacity at the Seoul and Beijing Games. According to the agreements, EF will provide special English training for the Games participants, including volunteers and employees of the Sochi-2014 Organizing Committee (SOC-2014).
Speaking at the agreement signing ceremony in April, SOC-2014 CEO Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that EF has demonstrated its highest standards through its deep experience with the Olympics and other major international sporting events. From his side, EF CEO Philip Hult said his organization and the Olympic Games share a mission of promoting international friendship and cultural exchange among nations. “There is an enormous desire in Russia to learn English and we are grateful to be given the chance to take part in helping to prepare this country for this huge sporting event.”
