According to its preliminary data, the gross volume of revenues generated by companies affiliated with the Ingosstrakh group in Q12011, compiled in accordance with national accounting standards, totaled 18bln rubles, which was 5.2% more than similar figures for last year, while the sum of compensations paid by all the group’s companies over this period totaled 11.8bln rubles, or about 4.9% less than the figures for Q12010.
Premiums collected via third-party insurance (so-called OSAGO) in Q1 2011 totaled 1.4bln rubles, up by 5.8%, while profit before EBITA deductions equaled 1.5bln rubles, or up 60% over last year’s data. Ingosstrakh CEO Alexander Grigoriev, who disclosed these data in April at a meeting with Russian business media, specifically noted that the highest rates of increases in premiums were recorded in agricultural insurance (+60.4%); air transport insurance (+40.4%) and maritime insurance (+20.9%).
